Teaching Procedures:
Step1 Warm-up
1.
Greeting and self-introduction
2.
Review the sentence “What do you want? I want ______.” by singing a song:
“ Hello , hello , what do you want? What do you want? What do you want?
Hello , hello , what do you want? I want juice. ” (Replace the underlined word.)
3.
Free talk. T: “What do you want?” Ss: ……(divide the class into 2 groups: rabbit group, cat group)
Step2 Presentation
1.
Show a video shot in a supermarket.
2.
Present the new word “ rabbit, carrot ” and “ Look at that ____.”
1)
Show PPT ( a rabbit) . T: “ Oh! Look! Look at that rabbit!” ( do the action).
Ss follow. “ Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, look at that rabbit!” ( Pay attention to “that”.)
2)
Use the same way to present “ carrot” and “ Look at that carrot!”
3.
Show PPT to Present “ The rabbit wants a carrot.” Ss follow. Make sure Ss know the meaning. ( Pay attention to “wants”! ) “ Rabbit, carrot, the rabbit wants a carrot.”
4.
Use a rabbit headgear and some carrots to let Ss perform:
S1: “Hello, I’m a rabbit. I want a carrot.”
Others : “ Oh! The rabbit wants a carrot.”
5.
Use the same way to present “ cat , fish” , “Look at that cat!” and “ The cat wants a fish.”
Step3 Practice
1.
Show the 4 words “rabbit, carrot, cat , fish” on the screen one by one . Let Ss satnd up to say it loudly and quickly to practice the 4 words and “Look at that ____.”
2.
Let’s chant!
“ Rabbit, carrot, the rabbit wants a carrot.”
“ Cat, fish, the cat wants a fish.”
3.
Play a guessing game!
( Ask 2 Ss come to the blackboard to choose a thing they want. The others close their eyes and guess like this: The rabbit wants a _____. The cat wants a _____. Yes or no? ”
4.
Show another video shot in a supermarket. Let Ss say it together: “The monkey wants a banana.”
Step4 Wrap-up
Let’s sing!
