二、教学目标:

1.
语言知识目标:掌握并理解下列单词的用法:tail,long ,short


学会运用.....has a long/short tail.句型来描述客观事物的特征。


2.
语言技能目标:能听懂有关描述客观事物长或短特征的语句。


能用英语口述某样东西是长的还是短的。


能看懂关于简单描述事物长短特征的句子,例


如The ruler is long. The pencil is short.


能用简单的英语句子描写事物的长短特征。

3.情感目标:从long与short 是近反义词出发,启示学生任何事物

都有对立的一面。我们看事物要有辩证的眼光,既要


看到好的一面,又要看到不好的一面。

三、教学重点:
词汇:tail long short 
句型:......has a long/short tail.
四、教学难点:
明白long 和short 是一组反义词,是用来描述某样东西是长的或是短的。
五、教具准备:粉笔,多媒体,录音机
六、教学过程:

Step1
Warm-up 

1、Greet all the students.
T:Good morning,boys and girls.How are you?
Ss:Good morning,Miss Yu. I am fine. Thank you.
T: Are you ready?(asking with the frequently-used gestures)
Ss:Yes,I am ready.(answerin with other frequently-used
gestures) 

2.Play the English song 
(aims: to create the right atomasphere for better-English learning)

Step 2 Presentation 

Use the multi-media to show the pictures of a monkey and a rabbit at the same time.
 The teacher points to the tails of these two animals and tell the students it is called tail in English.

The students read tail after the tape 
and capture its meaning and usages at the same time.


The teacher asks the students to look at the pictures carefully while keeping this question in mind“Who has a long tail?”


Some students put their to
answer this question. The teacher invites
one of them to give the answer . 


S1:monkey 


The teacher then makes the
sentence
a compeleted one 
“The monkey has a long tail.”


The students read after the teacher .


By using the same means to accomplish the teaching of the sentence 
“The rabbit has a short tail.” 

(aims:With the help of the pictures, the stutents are allowed to have a direct view of the content.

By letting them think out the answers independently,they can grasp the content in a better way.

Step 3、Practice 
Activity 1
A
match 


The students take part in the math by teams . The result
is to see which team can read the three words
“tail long short”by using the shortest time.The winners will get the prapared gifts.

Activity 2 Free talk 

Divide the students to some groups .Each group has six

Students . They are asked to talk about which animals have the long tail and which animals have the short tail with the pictures showed on the screen of the multi-media.During the dicussion of the students,the teacher should walk around the classroom and guide the studendts to finish this task well.
(aims: to make the students use the language points taught today neatly.)
Step4 consolidation 

Ask the students to finish the exercise presented on the screen .


Use the following words to finish the exercise.

monkey rabbit pig dog cat mouse / long short 


(aims:by doing the exercise,the students can get an over-all understanding of this class.)
