Step1. Warm up

T:  Hello! Boys and girls! Let me introduce myself before our class. I’m Su Xiaomei. You can call me Miss Su. Today, we’ll study English together. I think we’ll have a good time. Do you think so?

S:  Yes.

T:  Great! Who want to introduce yourself?

S:  My name is…..

T:  What’s your favorite pastime?

S:  My favorite pastime is…..

T:  Do you know, what’s my favorite pastime?

S:  …….

T:  So clever. I like music very much. I like to listen to the music when I have free time. I think music can  make us relax. Today, I bring a beautiful song to you. Let’s listen to the song.

T:This is a beautiful song.Do you know what’s the song about? What can you hear on the end of the song?

S:…….

T: The singer says:”I love you, mom.”

He shows his thanks to his mom.Beacuse mom showed me when I was young just how to grow. Mom showed me everything that I should know. Mom showed me just how to walk without her hands. Cause mom, you always were the perfect fan.”

I want to show thanks to my mother.

I think my mother is the hardest in my home. She often does the housework at home. Who does do the housework in your home? Your father? Your mother? You? Let’s do a survey.

设计意图:本课从与学生的聊天导入,随意的对话既复习了上个单元学习过的句型,又拉近了师生的距离,使课堂气氛轻松了起来.随后一首关于母亲的歌曲使学生们的学习情绪高涨,做好了学习新知识的准备.


Step2. New Lesson

1.Do the survey

T: Do you understand this phrase”do the laundry”?

 It means wash clothes.

 Model: My mother does the laundry at home. So mother gets a star.

Make a model,then do and say it.

T:Let’s count . …..

 So mother is hard-working.


2.Talk about Mother’s Day.

T: I thanks my mother very much. Do you thanks your mother?

 Mother’s Day is a chance for us to show thanks to our mothers.

 On Mother’s Day,I usually buy gifts in the stores. I give gifts to my mother.

 What do you buy in the store?

Write their answers on the blackboard.

T: Buying gifts needs a lot of money. Do you have a lot money?

S: No.

T: No matter. You also show love and thanks to your mather. Here are ways to show love and thanks to your mother. You can choose one.

 Topic:

What do you make to show love to your mother?

 What do you do to show love to your mother?

 Write key words of answers on the blackboard.

3. Listen to the text about Mother’s Day. Then answer some questions.

a. When is Mother's Day? (oral practice)

b. When is Mother‘s Day this year? (oral practice)

c. Retell the text.(oral practice)

d. What will you do on Mother’s Day this year?

 (Write down on the card, then put on the tree.)


4.T: Give a girl a big hug.

 Explain the word “hug”.

T: Don't forget to give your mother a big hug! Don't forget to say “Thank you, Mother!” and “Happy Mother’s Day!” to your mother.

T: This tree is full of love. Moms are hard-working. They should get more than a special day. They should get more love.

设计意图:这是一节高年级的语篇的学习.我采用引导的方式,带领学生先了解课文中的重点句型与短语,经过练习后学生可以运用这些句型表达自己的想法,使学生在课堂上可以用英语思考,英语交流.

5.Work in pairs.

T: So many people love you.Your families love you.Your teachers love,too.You can show thanks and love to your them on a special day.How do you show thanks to them?

设计意图:引导学生用学过的语言谈谈其他的节日,为学生的语言学习创设真实情景,让孩子们活学活用,让孩子们体会到成就感.

1. Read the text after shool and retell the text to your parents.

  2. Make a card for Mother’s Day. Write what you want to say to your

     mom on Mother’s Day. You can draw pictures on the card,too.
