beginners, students study English for only one year.

Class size: thirty-five students

Age: 9

LESSON DESCRIPTION

Subject: 2a of qinghua English. Unit 3 lesson 18

Teaching aims:


1. Students can read and say the words : windy, kite,high.

2. Consolidate weather expression: nice, hot, cold.

3 Students can give some suggestions according to the weather.

Main and point:

students can give some suggestions according to the different weather.

students can identify the difference between kite and kites.

TEACHING PROCEDURES

STEP 1

Warm up

1.Teacher comes to the class smiling and greets students.

T: Good morning boys and girls. How are you today?

2. Let’s sing a song. ( bingo)

STEP 2

Presentation

一 Vocabulary learning

1. Let’s review.

T: Before the new lesson, let’s do some revision. Do you remember what we have learnt before.

T: (ppt) How’s the weather today? What can we do?


(giving the pictures of nice day, hot day and cold day, teacher helps students to review the weather and ask them what they will do according to different weather and check how well the students grasp )

2. introduction

T: Today we will learn a new lesson---lesson 18.(write on the Bb).

(1) Please listen carefully and guess what weather we will meet today. Show the picture and word of windy, let Ss repeat.

(PPT: giving the soud of the wind, lead the new word“windy” into the class. By this way, sudents will know the meanning fast and can

understand well)

(2) T:“ What can we do on the windy day?” ( Teacher let sudents think about the question and give their ansewer).


(ppt takes out the picture of flying kites) Teacher introduces the word “ kite” into class. Pay attention to the diference of kite and kites. Have students to read the chant: kites kites, fly kites.

2. Wrd Pactices.


(1) Train work: teacher makes students to read these new words one by one. Pay attention to their pronunciation.

(2) gussing game. Teacher puts the difference weather together, have students guessed “How the weather now?” then let them give some suggestions. .

二 Sentence learning


1. Have students listen to the tape, try their best to grasp the meanning of the dialogues.


2. Teacher asks students to translate the dialogues and see if students can know the meanning then explain the meanning for students.

3. Help students to read the dialogues for sveral times (pay attention to the word “high”. Help students to read and get the meanning of this new word.)and then give them some time to practice the dialogues with their partner.

4. do pair work. (invite some pairs to role play the dialogues)

三 Consolidation.


1. do the exercise of part three.

2. complete the table.

Students listen to the teacher carefully and take some notes. Then invite students to complete the table.(sticke the picture on the table)
