教材分析：
清华英语1B第四单元的主要内容是呈现孩子们喜爱的表示各种活泼可爱的小动物的单词及描述这些动物特点的形容词和句型，每课分别介绍两个动物单词和表现它们特征的一对反义词。第二十七课学习的是squirrel

heavy这四个单词，运用对话Who is heavy / light ?
The elephant / squirrel is heavy / light .来描述一些动物或事物的特点，学唱歌曲，巩固句型的掌握。
学情分析：
教学的对象是一年级的学生，经过一个学期的学习，以游戏、竞赛、绘画等活动来培养他们学习英语的兴趣。在教学中，坚持以听、说为主，采用听、说、读、唱、全身活动等方式，培养学生的观察力、思维能力和用语言进行交际的能力。
教学目标：
1、知识与技能目标
让学生听、说、认读squirrel

heavy，学会单词后熟练运用对话Who is heavy / light ?
The elephant / squirrel is heavy / light .
2、能力目标
培养学生的学习兴趣，运用所学知识与实际生活中，用英语进行交际的能力、发散性思维能力、观察能力和知识的迁移能力。
3、情感目标
锻炼学生在课堂活动中的自信心，鼓励他们大胆大声地说英语，培养他们团结、合作的精神和品德。
教学重难点：
1、教学重点：能用所学句型和反义词描述人或事物的特点。
2、教学难点：注重培养学生运用所学语言进行交际的能力，让学生大胆开口说英语。

教学过程：
Step1、Warming up
1、Greetings
2、Let’s sing a song. “The giraffe is tall.”
3、Play a guessing game.“What animals?”
Review the animals words.（squirrel elephant ）
(以歌曲来调节学生的学习情绪，使学生的思维快速地集中到课堂上来，看老师的动作猜是什么动物的猜谜游戏活跃课堂气氛，激活学生已有的知识储备，并且为本课的新单词squirrel和 elephant作了铺垫.)
Step2、Presentation
Part A
1、Learn the new words: squirrel
elephant
2、Play a game .“Listen say and point the cards.”
(每组派一名代表上台，老师说单词，上台的学生们边说边快速地指出那个单词的卡片。竞赛的活动可以让学生的观察能力和快速反应能力进行较量，同时巩固了新授单词squirrel和 elephant。)
3、Put one card on the floor. Teacher musts to move the desk.
But the desk is heavy. Teach “heavy”.
4、Teacher pick up the card and say “light”.
5、Read the two words after the teacher.
（教师通过不小心把一张卡片落到地上，必须搬动课桌才能拿到，教师用劲搬动课桌然后教授单词heavy,请其他同学也来试试，感受一下重量；老师轻松的捡起卡片，显得很不费力气，从而教授light.让学生在真实的情景中，刺激感官，去亲身感受理解单词的含义。）
6、Show the cartoon animals cards.Practice to say the words.
(Elephant heavy

(从具体的东西过渡到动物，通过观看在磅秤上不同重量的动物，得出是heavy 还是light.)
Part B
1、Show the CAI.Describe the pictures.
The boy is heavy .The boy is light.
The girl is heavy. The girl is light.
2、Practice to say the sentences.
3、Show the animals pictures. Describe the pictures.
The elephant is heavy. The squirrel is light.
(从练习说描述人物的句子，过渡到描述动物的句子，让学生通过观察试着说句子。)
4、Show the CAI.Listen and number.
(让学生听音标号，通过听看图进一步熟悉句型和理解句义。)
5、Have students look at the pictures and say the sentences.The teacher can ask “Who is heavy / light?”
(让学生看图试着描述一下图中动物的特点。从刚才的听到现在的说，体现一个从输出到输入的过程。同时也自然地进行问句“Who is heavy / light?”的教学。)
Step3、Practice
1、Read the dialogs after the teacher.
2、Practice the dialogs in groups.
3、A chain game.
(教师带读到小组读，最后用连锁游戏，一个学生问，后面一个学生回答，再问下一位，如此反复地练习问句和答句。)
4、Exercises.Listen ,look and check.
(1)、Who is light? The turtle is light.
(2)、Who is heavy? The pig is heavy.
5、Then check the answers.
Step4、Wrap_up
1、Play the tape .Listen and say.
2、Let’s sing. The squirrel is light.
Homework:
Draw some animals pictures and say the sentences.
(家庭作业让学生试着想想其他动物的特点，把它画出来，说一说，进一步巩固所学句型。)
