Step I. Teaching Organization
1. Greetings.
2. Warming up.
Sing a song about the animals they’ve learned.
3. Prologue: (keyword) Disneyland.
Let’s go to the Disneyland.

Step II. Revision
Review the words about the animals.
Game 1: A guessing game
Who are behind the letters?
(Key: D-bear, I-dog, S-elephant, N- rabbit, E- pig, Y-fox)
Learn the new words: pig, fox.
Read after the teacher.

Game 2: Rap the animals
Choose 1 student each group.
Teacher says the words.
The others guess the animals and say the words loudly.
Then the players listen and rap the animal pictures quickly.

Step III. New Teaching
Part A. New Words (fat, thin)
1. Stick the heads of two animals: pig, fox.
2. Draw the stick figures of the bodies.
One is very fat, the other is very thin. (pig-fat; fox-thin)
3. Read the two words after the teacher.

Game 3: Fat or thin
Show the cartoon picture to the students.
Invite one student guesses the picture without seeing.

Part B. New Sentences (The pig is fat. The fox is thin.)
1. Describe the pictures:
The boy is fat. The boy is thin.
The girl is fat. The girl is thin.
Try to read after the teacher.

Look at the blackboard.
Describe the animals:
The pig is fat. The fox is thin.
Sing the song: The pig is fat.
The fox is thin.

2. Game 4: Listen and match
Show the animals’ heads.
Invite one player from each group.
Listen to the order;
find the correct picture match the fat/thin body.
The others repeat the teacher’s orders.
E.g. The elephant is fat.
The dog is thin.
【运用已知动物图片进行替换练习,教师不断地输入新句型,训练学生的听能,从而了解学生是否理解了该类句型及句意。】
3. Summing up
Show the cards based on the teacher’s orders.
Then repeat the sentences.

1. Invite two other students, one is fat, one is thin.
T: Who is fat? Who is thin?
Students try to answer.

The students ask the questions
as the teacher with the different animal pictures.

2. Game 7: A chain game
Show the pictures to two students.
Each student asks the questions:
Who is fat? (Who is thin?)
The two students tell the answer.
Ask and answer one by one.
Show the correct answer.
