31.Three Little Monks
On the top of a mountain, there was a temple. A little monk lived in the temple. There was no water in the temple. He went down the mountain and carried two pailfuls of water every day.
One day, a thin monk came. He was thirsty, so he asked the little monk to carry water for him.
“What? I carry the water, and you drink it. No way! Go and carry it by yourself,” said the little monk.
At last, they went and carried one pail of water together.
After some time, a fat monk came, he was thirsty and tired.
“Two monks, go and carry
water for me, I’m thirsty,” said the fat monk.
“No! no, you two go together.” “No, no, no…” “You will go and carry water when you can’t bear it.”
So they waited and waited. At night, a mouse came out to find food. It saw a candle on the table. “Hey! Candle! It is yummy!” The little mouse began to eat the candle. The candle broke and caused fire!
“Fire! Fire! Wake up! Carry water quickly!” They ran down to the mountain and carried water. At last, they put out the fire together.

在一个山顶上,有一座庙,庙里有个小和尚。可是庙里没有水,于是他每天要下山挑满满两桶水。
一天,来了个瘦和尚。他很渴,于是他要小和尚去挑水给他喝。
“什么?让 我挑水, 你来喝。没门!自己去挑吧。”小和尚说。
最后,他们只好抬水喝。
过了一段时间,来了个胖和尚,他又渴又累。
“两个和尚,去抬水给我喝,我渴了。”胖和尚说。
“不!你们两个去。” “不,不,不--- ” “如果你实在受不了了,那你就自己去吧。”
他们等呵等。晚上一只老鼠来找东西吃。它看到了桌子上的蜡烛,”嗨,蜡烛,太好啦!” 这只老鼠开始有滋有味地吃起来。蜡烛倒了引起大火。
“着火啦!着火啦!快点起来去打水!”他们飞快地冲下山去取水。最后，火终于被他们一起扑灭了。
